Constant Pain from a Work Injury

On Behalf of | Mar 9, 2012 | Depression Posted On: March 9th, 2012

Chronic pain due to a work injury is one of the most difficult issues to deal with. Pain can cause a loss of employment, depression, and other very serious implications for an injured worker. Meanwhile, the workers’ compensation system does not do a very good job of finding appropriate treatment and care. Surgeons do not want to hear about pain after they have performed surgery, as they will tell you they fixed the surgical problem. Insurance companies do not have time for the problem, as it is not something that can be quantified by testing,
so instead, you will be treated as if you are exaggerating or magnifying your work injury.

Many injured workers are told it is just something they will have to live with which is hard to accept if the pain is severe, constant, interfering with sleep, simple everyday activities, and the ability to work. Issues with pain from a workers’ compensation claim can have very serious consequences and affect the outcome of benefits owed to the injured worker.

If you are experiencing issues with pain from a workers’ compensation claim, you should probably consult with an attorney who focuses on and is experienced in workers’ compensation. Tom Wertz or Mindi Vervaecke will sit down with you, at no cost, to consult regarding any of your workers’ compensation issues. Do not hesitate to contact one of us.
